For those of you that were wondering what happened to me the month of February, I assure you, I am still alive. However I was unable to update my homepage for a variety of reasons. The reasons are itemized as follows: 1. I was to lazy 2. My cat s ate my computer 3. I was working 4. I was to lazy I decided that I would lump February and March together in one Journal. Heck, February is such a despicable month anyway.. that's why they give it the fewest number of days.

Nam's California Adventure.... Richard, Elicia and I went to Disney's New Theme Park, California Adventure, on it's opening day February 14th. But, here's the story... The weekend before my trip to Disneyland, I come home from a long day of video game playing and instant messaging from work and headed through the garage into my beloved homestead. When low and behold I find my brother and his wife screaming there heads off at each other. Apparently my brother doesn't listen and apparently my sister in law is stubborn. In any case, I had a headache. I looked at my watch and it looked back at me with a sinister grin. It was 11:00 PM! So, I packed my bags and snuck past the feuding siblings through the garage and back into my car. From there, I headed to Taco Bell where I purchased a delectable assortment of Mexican goodies. Then I went off on my five hour car ride to LA. here's the deal - I was planning on going to Disneyland the following weekend, which meant that I would be missing class. That would normally be ok for me, but I only have four days for the entire class! Fortunately our classes meet every other week because the classes alternate from being taught in SF and LA. So, I arrange to go to the LA class a week before so that I could miss the SF class the following week to go to Disneyland.. Make sense.... oiw! Anywho, My car was packed with boxes from Elicia's work. Ya see, this was also the weekend Elicia was finally gonna move to LA to be with Richard. So I drive and drive and drive. Low and behold I did not get stopped by a police officer. I thought that was very important to note :) So, I head up toward Pasadena cause I was staying with Mai this weekend. I finally get to her place and I try to call her so she can open the door... But my phone didn't have service! So, I had to drive to the gas station and make a call using the pay phone. I finally get her and tell her to open the door for me when I get back there in a few minutes. I get there and just pass out on her sofa. The next morning I was of course late for class... just about three hours late... hee hee.... what are ya gonna do, right? Anywho, class is class.. That night Mai and I are supposed to go clubbing. I have dinner with Richard and Elicia and Sharon and drop off Elicia's things. The place Richard took us to had Matzo Ball Soup... I love eating my cat! :) I get back to Mai's and wait for her friends to get there. When they did, we ended having a crazy night stuck in traffic and then finally finding out that the place we wanted to go to was closed. We ended up eating a late night meal in Thai Town. The Following weekend I left on Wednesday night to go to the grand opening of California Adventures on February 14th 2001. I did an all night drive-a-thon again and crashed at Richard and Elicia's place in Van Nuys. They were sick. I was recovering. I was going to Stay in the new hotel during my stay. The Grand California Hotel or something to that effect. Cost me about $400 bucks a night, but was worth it. The decor was American arts and craft (Art-Deco), which is one of my favorite genre of architecture and design... go figure a beautiful blend of masculinity and feminine flare.
The neat thing about the Hotel is that it's got it's own private entrance into the California Adventures Theme Park. It's also got an entrance to Downtown Disney and is about ten minutes walking distance from the Disneyland. I felt right at home. We ate at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant in the Park one night.. and did our usual Disneyland thing another night. We had a gay ol' time. The new park also had this winery thing. They had a four course meal with wine for about 80 bucks... It was a great deal. You eat four courses of splendidly prepared food and get about eight half glasses of wines. I was drunk at disneyland... hiccup! Downtown Disney had a great tin sign shop and chocolate shoppe. They had chocolate covered marshmallows and strawberries. Poor Richard :/ no chocolate for you. We went to the House of Blues for dinner one of the nights and I bought a Statue of Liberty Lego set. All in all, a worthwhile trip! Oh yeah Lori called to see how we were. She apparently went to the Carribean without us... HA HA |

I spent the morning with Mr. Cutie Head. We had fun :) I gave Mr. Cutie Head the incense and a candle that looked like a glass of beer that I got from the House of Blues. He got a chocolate. It was good. We ate sandwiches for lunch and were very happy. That night, Maria, Kai, Justin, and I went to L'Indochine for valentines dinner. It was the worst service I have ever had in my entire life! blah blah blah... Anywho, We all got each other stuff. Justin got us all chocolates, Kai got us all roses, and Maria and I got every one a miniature trashcan filled with bowling goodies, sausages, candies, and tabsco sauce. YUM |

Went Snowboarding at North Star at Tahoe today! I woke up at early o'clock in the morning and drove up to SF to pick up Mr. Cutie Head. He was awake... I was so proud of him. We got all of his stuff into my car and wisked away to Tahoe. We stopped by a town called Pittschool where we ate BurgerKings breakfast food and met up with my friends Maria, Kai, Adam, and Romania. From there we went all the way up to the slopes. When we got to the slopes it was pretty cold and windy. Kai, Maria, Romania, Justin, and friends had to wait in line for rentals. Mr. Cutie Head and I already had our stuff so we went up and joined Adam on the slopes. It was all going fine until a turned funny and my knee popped out it's socket. I was in pain. I snapped my knee back into possition and attempted to snowboard back down. I was in pain. Even worse was that the run before this one, i had lost a contact lens! Fortunatley I brought a spare. Anywho, Mr. Cutie Head and Adam were afraid that I was gonna hurt myself more. But I just told them I would grin and bear it. Then I remember Mr. Cutie Head getting me angry because he was being mean. I was already pissed and frustated cause I could barely control my leg that I didn't want to deal with it any more so I didn't speak to him for a bit. I guess we got along again afterward. On the drive home we stopped at the Fry's Electronics in podunck California. It sucked. Aside from dislocating my knee. I had a great trip. Mr. Cutie Head made up for being mean when we got back to his place. |

March was a very interesting month. On the 4th I went to traffic school where I learned how to get out of a speeding ticket. March 1st I went to Jury Duty where I was respectfully asked to leave by the defending attorney. March 8th I went to court to plea for mercy on my one year license suspension. The court day was real fun. I got there, blue hair and all, and stood before the judge. The judge looked at the record and said something to the extent of... wow... five speeding tickets, four of which are only three to five miles over the speed limit and one at ten miles over. Hmmm..... Well, you were definitely speeding but not much, so I'll ammend the one year mandatory suspension to a one month suspension. Whatcha gonna do. Well I did what I had to do, accept the punishement and drive very slow. I've been driving very very slow. Ugg. Scary. On Saint Patty's Day I went to Universe and danced the night away... which can be said for most of the saturdays of the month, as well as wednesday and thursday.. and oh friday. I did lighting designs for Calaveras Repertoire Theater's production of A Midsummer Nights Dream and The Bus Barn Stage Company's production of Scapin and also The Fancy Dancer's dance recital. Boy am I tired.

Went to UC Davis to see Penny Gullan, my future advisor for my PhD. It was great fun. We talked to people and narrowed down the project I will be working on. I've decided to accept Davis and reject Berkeley. I then went Bowling with the gang and did terribly. ugg Afterward, went to Unique to dance the night away.. only till 2:00 am though... they close to early. |

Had dinner with Maria, Viet, and Romania at Miyakes in Palo Alto. It confirmed a suspicion I've had for a while.. that Miyakes makes really bad sushi... almost as bad as Sushi Lovers or Sushi Boat. When will these people learn that it takes both good ingredients AND good chefs.... not just one or the other.
(This has nothing to do with the dinner.. but thought I'd stick a pic of Mariae and Nicole in here...)

I had a date with Mr. Irish Man tonight. First of all, I had a diabetic fit for the first time in a month or so today.. Insulin didn't do much for me. So, when I got to the date I was very groggy. Anywho, we ate at Blue.. I had the Osso Bucco.. which I love. It was good. Then we went window shopping. Rolo was open for another ten minutes and they were ancy to get us out of the store. We then went to a store that had some cool shirts, but they only had mediums... What is up with that. How are we going to get fat people skinny if we create clothes for them to where and not promote sveltness? HA HA. I got some cool shirts at don't panic instead... They have smalls ya know. I had an nice time. After that I eneded up getting tricked by my friend to go to TDs.... Terrible terrible terrible..... |

So Maria and I go shopping with Justin. We figure that the new addition at the Valley Fair mall has done something very strange. The old section feels "ghetto" now. Almost as if I feel poor just walking through it. There are some good shops still but it lacks something. Anyway, that night we went to a Party arranged by my friend Barbie. More importantly I got to see Amber, who I lived with on Martha's Vineyard. I, of course, get to her place late cause I got lost. But, we were so happy to see each other. We got to the party and I saw Petra, who I haven't seen in a while with a friend of hers visiting from the Czech Republic. Amber's boyfriend Andy will be moving out to California to live with her. She's flying out to Indiana in a week and they both are going to drive back here! It's so exciting. Anyway, we have some fun at this party, which was slightly probablatic cause the CD player skipped a lot and they were playing a selection of music which I particular wasn't that hyped up about. Though It was nice to have been somewhat invited. I had planned a night of clubbing with Amber in which I would show her a nice gay club... Like Universe. Well, I conned Petra and her friend to come too. We get to Universe and have a blast. They had these circus performers there that day. A fire juggler, and these acrobats that did weird positions and spins on these pendulum ropes. Amber and I danced on one of the mini podium/stages set up for people. I then took them home and was tricked by my friend to come pick him up at the club again.... Unfortunately I waited where we had arranged and he never showed up. Note to people... if you do this to me, I will never speak to you again. Anywho. I'm so glad I got to see Amber, been procrastinating for a while just because of pure laziness. She's been out here since September for gods sake! Anyway. I got home at 6 or 7.. got confused with daylight savings. Then I slept for just a little bit.... then..... |
